LOCATION: Awaken London, 73 Blythe Road, London, W14 0HP
DATE: Saturday 22nd March. 1pm to 4pm.
DESCRIPTION
You'll learn all you need to know - from cacao's origins and genotypes, to how it's made and what it does to the body. We’ll also dispel some cacao myths (like if adding sugar to it really is a no-no) and taste-test our way through 8 (yes 8!!) different types of cacao from across the globe.
Why?
Because the full power of cacao can only be unlocked when you understand how this ancient medicine works, and how to use it respectfully and in a way that feels good to you.
And to really understand cacao, you have to experience it in its many forms.
So… if you’re ready to master working with cacao, join this hands-on 3-hour workshop extravaganza to dive oh so deep into the world of cacao.
By paying and signing up for this event, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the section below.
You’ll discover:
- The origins of cacao and how it was traditionally used in Andean culture
- The different types of cacao and when to use each type
- How to dose cacao to achieve the effect you want (including the benefits of microdoses versus ceremonial doses)
- How cacao affects the body: physically, emotionally and spiritually
- Who should and shouldn’t take cacao
- How you can start working with cacao
- How to create your own cacao ritual at home
Facilitated by doctor, herbalist and founder of the online cacao apothecary 8 Within, Ifey Ihonor, you’ll be led through an interactive and experiential workshop.
You’ll taste test a variety of ceremonial cacao from across the globe and learn how to work more confidently with cacao, so you can personally use or serve this ancient medicine safely, respectfully and with maximum effect.
We'll even do our best to source some fresh cacao fruit for you to try on the day!
And you'll get to try alternative forms of cacao - like husk tea, cacao tinctures and more!
- Please arrive with an empty stomach - don’t eat 3 hours before the workshop to make sure you fully absorb and feel the effects of the cacao
- Please bring a notebook and pen if you’d like to take notes.
- Avoid drinking alcohol, coffee or taking any stimulants on the same day as the event.
